How to use this course: the lesson rhythm, the notes, the questions and the mocks
Economics and Analysis
Time value of money: present value, future value, net present value and internal rate of return

The risk-adjusted measures: beta, alpha and the Sharpe ratio

The efficient way

Less to read. More of it on the exam.

Study where the marks are

A plan built on the exam's weights

45% of the Series 66 is law and ethics, the area most candidates under-prepare. Your notes open with a study plan built on the weights, so your hours land where the marks are.

Plain English first

Understand it, then memorize it

Every topic opens with the plain-English version, then the details, the key facts, and how the exam actually asks about it. Read once for understanding, once for the marks.

Traps flagged

Spot the wrong answer that looks right

The exam's favorite move is an answer choice built to catch people who almost know the rule. Every one we know of gets an orange trap box, like the one in this page from your notes.

The plain-English version

Money has a price, and the price is time. A dollar you hold today can be invested, so it is worth more than a dollar promised a year from now. Every calculation in this lesson is a version of that one idea.

The trapThe direction of the discount rate. Raising the rate lowers present value, and lengthening the time to payment lowers it too. A rate is a discount, not a reward, in this calculation.
